Post Now 04:41
Rise from the ground from the earth Searching for love in forms it never takes In places it will never be The lengths we'll go, the distance we'll seek Further and farther away from touch and blood to an endless flood Hold onto, hold onto your, hold onto your likes Let the screen hold you, let your wishes hold you, let the boxes keep you warm at night Can you walk away Can you leave it all in the past Can you escape your heavy life Can you stay away Can you close your eyes to the future Can you turn it off for just one night Will you find a way Will you hold out for something that feels right Will you make good for your place in time Will you run away Will you climb out from under your burdens Will you follow me back to when we were the scum of the earth Oh lucky me, lucky mud I stayed on the shore and waited Our energy is disconnected

Pelican, Fly 04:19
Take yourself out of the picture Erase yourself from my memory One more time Not over and over Or I will fly Fly away Don't know what's right But I'll do what's right for me You want love from everyone around you You give love to everyone you see You want to be free Free but still steady But you can't have your freedom With or without me You want so many things but You'll never change to get them The cycle starts and ends too many times to count Why do I keep on forgiving I can see the difference I can make I can only keep on living There's no bottom to this man made lake Oh I can see you're trying Your life was never easy Your mind is clearer than it's ever been before So I'll keep on keep on waiting time will come and go around again There's no use in separating With our wings so bound Take yourself out of the picture Erase yourself from my memory One more time Not over and over Or I will fly Fly away Your life was never easy You've fought to keep on living The cycle starts and ends too many times to count So I'll keep on keep forgiving Till I climb out of this man made lake I want so many things and I'll always change to get them My mind is clearer than it's ever been before There's no use in separating With our wings so bound

From crowds, the crowds The streets are empty now It shows it shows No normalcy we know It spills out of our throats And into the throes Our lights are turning low But we know There's no coming back From ease, the ease It’s all a challenge now We thought we'd be (we were so sure) Out of the pitch black We thought we could see (there was an end in sight) Instead our hands are pressed against the glass for another night The time, the time No reason, without rhyme The months are days An empire in decline, so stuck in its ways It spills out of our throats And into the throes Our lights are turning low But we know There's no going back Ahhhhhhhhh Ahhh aaahhh The crowds, the crowds Are full of power now It grows, they grow Will those we fight against ever reap the fear they sow

when the light comes through in the morning, remember all the darkness from yesterday when the golden hue of the sunset takes over it's only on the surface another day is ending when the glimmering blue of the night sky charms your eye those stars have all been dead for hundreds of years there's rest in reality it's not all your responsibility we never knew before we were born and we'll never know after life is gone set your sadness free laugh at the absurdity from water we came and to dirt we'll go so in between do whatever makes it easier on your last day with your last thought, remember you’ll never know the answers

about

All tracks were recorded during the Great US Pandemic/Social Justice Struggle. We hoped to mark this dark time in the world (and especially in this pathetic excuse for a country) with these 4 songs, masked up, with an apocalyptic vibe (which isn't difficult right now). Marc had an idea for the cover art of a piano in an empty field (which he knew wasn't possible), he told the idea to his friend/photographer Rebecca and one day later a piano repairman acquaintance (Jim Boydston of No Piano Left Behind) made her/her husband aware of an abandoned piano on Fiesta Island. The planets have never aligned in such a way for us ever. It was a truly amazing random coincidence that couldn't have been more perfect, the next day we were there taking the photos.

We are happy with how this came out and that we were able to do it in such a fucked up time. We owe a lot to our friends who helped for next to nothing financially and it's amazing how this community continuously comes together for fellow musicians

Special thanks to Scott Mercado (Manuok) for convincing Marc he could record everything himself and giving him belief/some advice along the way.
